How to enable the Soply Theme App Embed in Shopify

Enable the Soply Theme App Embed in a published Shopify theme and check purchase limit messages on product and cart pages.

2 min read

Enable Soply's Theme App Embed in your published theme to show limit messages and run storefront interactions. You configure this in Shopify's theme editor. Creating a rule in the app does not automatically enable the theme embed.

Enable the embed

  1. In Soply Purchase Limits, find Theme app extension under Dashboard → Quick setup. You can also open the corresponding entry from Settings / Preferences.
  2. Use its button to open Shopify's theme editor and go to App embeds.
  3. Find the Soply Purchase Limits embed, which may appear as Purchase Limits Guard, and turn it on.
  4. Click Save in the Shopify theme editor.
  5. Return to the app, refresh the dashboard status, and confirm that the theme extension is enabled.
If you enabled the embed in an unpublished theme, check the theme that customers actually visit. A theme copy's embed setting does not confirm the live theme's setting.

Check the storefront

Open the published theme's product page, cart, and cart drawer. Add items that should trigger an active rule and look for the expected message. Themes can use different cart and quick-buy controls. If no message appears, first check the embed, rule status, and trigger conditions, then contact support for theme compatibility help.

The Theme App Embed improves the storefront experience. To block a noncompliant cart at checkout, enable checkout validation as well.

After setup, use the entry-point test checklist to check messages. If nothing appears, follow missing banner troubleshooting.

Keep going

Use a test product or cart to check the outcome before applying this setup across your store.
