How to configure store settings for purchase limits

Settings / Preferences holds the weight unit, timezone, checkout bypass, and theme extension controls shared across rules. Save these store settings before testing an individual rule so you can separate a rule mismatch from a store-level configuration issue.

Check store information

1. Open Settings / Preferences in the app.
2. Under Store information, select the Weight unit (kilograms, pounds, ounces, or grams) you intend to use when reading and entering weight limits.
3. Select the Timezone used for time-based limit conditions. If a rule has start or end times, make sure this matches the store's intended operating timezone.
4. Save, refresh the page, and confirm the selected values are still shown.

Check storefront and checkout protection

1. To block a violating checkout, turn off Allow all customers to complete checkout and save. When it is on, customers can finish checkout without limit restrictions.
2. Use Enable checkout validation to check the shop-level Shopify validation function. Open the target rule and confirm its Enable checkout validation switch is saved too. Follow the Checkout Validation guide.
3. From Theme app extension, open the current theme editor, enable the extension, and save to show storefront messages. Refresh this page after returning. Follow the Theme App Embed guide.
4. If you use frequency rules, this page also contains the order-tag and optional email violation alert settings.

For example, set the timezone to Asia/Shanghai and create a rule that starts tomorrow at 10:00. Test an in-scope item before and after that time. Then take a passing and a violating cart through checkout validation to check the combined settings.
