Soply Purchase Limits lets Shopify merchants define what customers can buy and how much they can buy. You can limit an order or selected items by quantity, value, or weight; cap total sales across orders; control product access; and define purchase combinations. Rules are managed in the app. The Theme App Embed handles storefront messages and interactions, while Checkout Validation checks applicable rules during checkout.
Which problem does each feature solve?
| Merchant goal | Feature |
|---|---|
| Require an order minimum or cap the total items in one order | Order limits |
| Cap the combined quantity of products in selected collections | Collection limits |
| Limit a product or a specific variant | Product limits or variant limits |
| Cap how many units of a product or variant sell across orders | Total limits |
| Block or allow selected customers to buy selected products | Product access rules |
| Allow one choice, share a quantity cap, or require items together | Purchase combinations |
See Choose a limit type for the calculation differences.
How do storefront messages and checkout blocking work together?
The Theme App Embed helps customers see limit messages on the storefront. Checkout Validation checks applicable rules when a customer reaches checkout. An active rule alone does not prove that both are working: check the theme embed, shop-level checkout validation, and the rule's Enable checkout validation setting.
To try the app, complete the first-time setup, then test one passing and one failing cart.
Use a test product or cart to check the outcome before applying this setup across your store.
