Inventory rules offers Raw material mode, Bundle mode, and Mixed mode. Choose according to the relationship behind each sale: does the sale consume measured materials, or does it contain a fixed set of existing items?

Work through an example
One candle uses 200 grams of wax and 5 milliliters of fragrance: those are raw material requirements. A gift box contains two finished candles and one cup: those are bundle components. A store selling both individual candles and gift boxes can choose Mixed mode, then set up each relationship separately.
Select the mode
Open Inventory rules, choose an option under Inventory mode, and save the page. Selecting a mode does not create materials, product bindings, or bundle components for you.
If your store already has rules, review the affected materials, variants, bundles, and their active statuses before switching. After saving, check the calculated quantities and test both an allowed and an excessive purchase quantity. Confirm Cart & checkout validation is Active separately.
