How to Set Up Raw Material Low Stock Alerts and Emails in Soply

Low stock alerts help you review replenishment needs as a material's available quantity approaches a threshold. Set a store-wide threshold and override it for materials that need a different safety level.

Enable alerts and choose thresholds

1. Open Inventory rules and enable Low stock alert.
2. Set the Global low stock threshold and save.
3. For a material that needs a different threshold, open its edit page in Raw Materials and set a material-specific value. Soply uses that override for the material's alert check.

Choose a threshold in the material's unit and according to replenishment time. For example, a material measured in kilograms and used at roughly 2 kg per day needs a threshold that covers purchasing lead time and your chosen safety margin; a product unit count is not a substitute.

Add recipients and check delivery

Add notification addresses in the alert section, complete any verification shown in the page, and use Test send to check receipt. You can configure up to 10 addresses. Adding or removing an address takes effect immediately and is separate from saving the global threshold; confirm both changes.

Open Low Stock Alert Logs and filter by material name or email status. Each record shows the available quantity, threshold and its type, recipients, and Pending / Sent / Failed delivery status. For a failed send, review its error, address verification, and spam folder. A successful test email alone does not prove every real alert was delivered; use the logs and actual receipt to verify.
