How to Create a Shopify Bundle or Kit in Soply

A bundle connects the Shopify variant customers buy with the variants that make up the kit. Soply calculates how many complete bundles are available from the quantity of each component required per bundle.

Before you begin

Create or identify the Shopify sales variant for the complete bundle and the Shopify variants used as components. Write down the quantities for one kit. For example, a coffee gift box might contain two bags of beans, one mug, and one spoon. Each component's required quantity must be a positive whole number.

In Inventory rules, select Bundle mode or Mixed mode and save the page. After creating the bundle, you will still need to check that the relevant validation rule is active.

Create the bundle

1. Open Bundles / Kits and choose Add Bundle / Kit.
2. Under Bundle Setup, enter an internal Bundle name and review Status. Use Draft if the configuration is not ready for sales.
3. Choose an Inventory mode. DERIVED_ONLY uses component stock to limit the bundle. Review MIXED if the bundle sales variant's own Shopify stock should also cap availability. STOCK_ONLY is unavailable in the current version.
4. Choose Select product and select the Shopify variant customers purchase as the bundle.
5. In Components & Availability, choose Add components and select the component variants.
6. Enter Units per bundle for each component: 2 for beans and 1 each for the mug and spoon in this example. Check that the intended components are active, then save.

Verify the result

Return to the bundle list and check its name, sales variant, component count, status, and Available quantity. Open the bundle to review Derived available quantity. If your store uses multiple locations, inspect the location breakdown too. Components needed for a complete bundle must be available at the same location; the calculation does not combine scattered components from different locations into one kit.

If availability is lower than expected, check each component's Shopify stock, Units per bundle, active status, and location. In MIXED mode, also check whether Shopify inventory tracking is enabled for the bundle sales variant and how much of that variant is available at the relevant location.
