How to Import Soply BOM Recipes and Product Bindings from CSV

CSV import helps set up material-to-product usage relationships in bulk. Download the template first, and confirm each matched product and material before committing the import.

Prepare and preview the file

1. On Raw Materials, open the menu and select BOM Import Guide, or start with Download Import Template.
2. Fill in the CSV according to the template. Use accurate variant SKUs, material identifiers, quantities, and units. Duplicate or missing SKUs may need manual review.
3. Upload the file and inspect every row's preview status: Ready, Warnings, or Blocked.
4. Correct or remove Blocked rows. Read and explicitly confirm any Warnings you accept.
5. Set opening stock for newly created materials. If you skip it, their opening stock is zero. Then confirm the import.

Check the effect before committing

The import replaces existing bindings for products affected by this import. Make sure the file includes every relationship you want those products to retain; export the current BOM recipes first if you need a backup. Import may also recalculate and immediately update the affected products' native Shopify inventory. Check the previewed variants, locations, and stock sync settings before confirming.

After import, spot-check several materials and variants for the matched records, usage per unit, calculated availability, and Shopify inventory result. A standard recipe export does not contain multi-level parent-child material relationships; review and rebuild sub-component relationships separately when migrating.
